If your Mitsubishi Imiev dealer is over 60 miles away

Quite a few Nissan dealerships were willing to deliver LEAFs to new owners living beyond the range of the vehicle. Sometimes it was free. Sometimes there was a nominal charge. I would imagine that there will be progressive Mitsubishi dealers willing to entertain the same kind of deal.

    $7500 dollar rebate

Wait a second. So you usually "owe" $200 because you've underpaid your taxes slightly come the end of the year? But what do you owe in terms of you total yearly tax liability? Because the tax credit comes off the top of this figure. The rebate in CA has come down to just $2500 in recent months...

    $7500 dollar rebate

I'm glad you've now found out that it's a tax credit and not a rebate. Do you only owe $200 because of other deductions, or simply because you don't earn that much? It's somewhat vulgar to discuss money, but for the sake of discussion......I consider my family "middle class" with a normal...

Eaton L2 home charging dock MSRP $700

Double check with Mitsubishi before buying other than the official unit - I hear rumors of verbiage in the warranty document for the battery pack requiring it (though Magnusun-Moss would probably preclude such).

Eaton L2 home charging dock MSRP $700

Oh, wait. If you're in HI...isn't everything more expensive for you as a matter of course, on account of having to freight it in?

Eaton L2 home charging dock MSRP $700

Huh. $700 was the number given to me at the press preview event for the i. It came straight from a Mitsubishi marketing guy. You can see that Bengt Halvorson from High Gear Media, who was at the same event, but on a different rotation from the one I was on (so he would have heard this...

Solar Charging Stations at Mitsubishi Headquarters

I was at the unveiling. Here is a copy of the piece I did for mynissanleaf.com the day of the event: Quick Charging comes to Southern California Michael J. Walsh In a forward thinking move, Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Motors North America have partnered to build a solar-powered charging...

Eaton L2 home charging dock MSRP $700

This is the Eaton charging dock that Best Buy will be carrying, ostensibly for the Mitsubishi i but I expect all-comers will be able to buy them at (or below) the MSRP of $700. Although this picture shows a stainless steel pedestal, you don't actually get that in the box. You just the standard...

2012 Mitsubishi i - US Spec First Drive. Michael J. Walsh

Here's one where difference between the length of our LEAFs and the length of the i nearest to us is a bit more evident:

2012 Mitsubishi i - US Spec First Drive. Michael J. Walsh

Mitsubishi’s i subcompact electric vehicle is set to reach dealer showrooms in the US this winter, and the $64,000 question is how it’ll be received by American buyers. It has already done well elsewhere, with over 11,000 sold YTD in Japan and Europe since its introduction in 2009. And it’s...
