Well that tablet was awful! Sent it back. I thought yea it will be slow but it was basically not usable, and many issues I couldn't figure out. So I decided to try something a little newer and went with the Samsung A8 for around $90 used. https://www.ebay.com/itm/326423974322

I installed the OBDLink app on my iPad, to check the firmware. It was up to date. I reset the OBDLink by pressing the button 15 seconds. I used the OBDLink app to connect to my 2005 Elantra. It connected and read codes. No codes found as expected. I went to the iMiev, tried using the...

So far I've paid $125 for the ODBLink MX+ (used email discount), and $7 for carscanner, and $8 for Hobdrive. I think all these prices are very normal and reasonable and am happy to pay this to not have to buy another device, have another device around that I hardly use and have to keep charged...
