This new battery technology in A123′s labs was shown to improve power capability at low temperature and life at high temperature, a problem that is currently confounding Nissan LEAF management in the extreme heat of Arizona.

Ever notice how these articles never include a comparison to the iMiev. How do we fare on this issue?

Hopefully they will get some form of compensation for real world pioneering into the EV Era.

I wish there was a similar long term test on the Miev to evaluate.

If I remember correctly after burning some fiskers they went bankrupt.

It does not compare at all. Lithium Iron Phosphate in the i-MiEV dont have a temperature problem. The burnt cells were Lithium Cobalt and they did have a thermal runaway problem. Same goes for that grounded airplane.

I am glad we have the cheapest but most reliable cells in our car.

Dont think about Lead Acid. They are more expensive because they last only 2 years in an ev.
