ProClip Left Mount does not fit the new Mitsubishi i

I recently ordered a mount from ProClip so I could use it with an iPhone holder. I have been using the same type of setup on my Prius for years and it is a great convenience. ProClip states that they have a mount for the 2010-2013 Mitsubishi i-Miev. This mount does not seem to fit the US version of the Mitsubishi i. I know the US version is supposed to be a little wider than version sold in other parts of the world. Apparently, this increase in width also applies to the A-pillar where you are supposed to put the mount. Has anyone else had this experience? Can you recommend a different type of mount?
