I'll pass this along in case there is any interest. I went last year and it was good we built OpenEVSE's with knowledgeable help.

Alright, on the theory that nothing happens unless plans are actually made, I am going to put a stake in the ground.
That said, I've set Saturday April 12th at 1PM up. The venue will be the Maker Space in the Hacker Dojo (http://www.hackerdojo.com/). An assortment of tools are available there to use, but you must bring your own parts and consumables (that includes solder). If you want to build an OpenEVSE, then that means you must order your kits far enough in advance for them to arrive before that date. I strongly recommend that beginners consider the 30A DIY board at http://openevse-store.myshopify.com/products/diy-30a-openevse-plus, along with a display. I also strongly recommend adding a 28 pin .3" DIP socket to the kit to socket the controller chip.
At the moment, the event is set for a maximum attendance of 12. If we get more interest than that, then we can move the event into the dojo's event room, which has room for 90, but there are no tools in there.

I have just the venue in mind, and if there is any demand, I'd be happy to host one.
And Hydra and EVSim building is, of course, welcome too...
