Radio bad reception

Hi, the reception of the standard radio is poor. The antenna wire is connected into the back of the radio, and the antenna on the roof is not corroded and seems to be OK. Still I can just receive a few FM stations here in The Netherlands.
Suggestions please?
Thanks, Albert

Re: Radio bad reception

Check that power is getting to the antenna amplifier

If it is, then test reception using a 76cm (1/4 wave) piece of wire attached directly to the antenna socket inner pin and see how it compares to the roof antenna

If they're roughly the same then the odds are that the RF amplifer has failed (it happens) and you'll need to replace the antenna assembly

There are better ways of testing but they require buying test gear. This is a good first pass
