Hello. I've lost my car remote (and keys) and don't have extras. I have uncut keys (no remote) for the Mitsubishi i-Miev 2012 ES model. It does not have a touch screen or fast charging. I'm wondering if I have the keys cut will they be able to start my car or no? If not what is my best course of action? Should I try to order the remote online and have it programmed/cut or pay the dealership to buy it? Thanks.

Hi Fighterwis,

I think you will be fine with your plain keys, but they don't turn on the alarm.
I think the keys are somehow programmed so your car recognizes them.
Most good lockshops can cut and program them, at lower cost than the dealer.

We have one key that can remotely lock/unlock the doors and a plain key.
My wife uses the remote key, I use the plain one.
If my wife drives the car and locks it with the button on the key it sets the alarm and
if I drive it next and unlock the car with the plain key, the alarm goes off and
I have to put the key in the ignition to stop it.
Mostly my wife locks the car with the button on the door and the alarm isn't set and
if I drive it next I don't get the bleeping beeping alarm.

Thanks and good health, Weogo
