Here's a nice writeup by a potential "i" customer who then took his father-in-law to test drive a Volt. Not too flattering comments about the Mitsu. dealer's lack of preparation for someone who had given advance notice of his visit.

The Volt writeup:

What shocked and appalled me was the influence of politics on his in-laws' decision-making process, especially in this Volt review writeup. I was incredulous at the following: "When we got back to their house that evening, my father-in-law brought up the possibility of buying a Volt and asked my mother-in-law to go with him to test drive the vehicle the next day. The ensuing scene was not pretty. Under no circumstances would she let him buy the car, as she considers it an “Obama vehicle.” Yes, she is even more rabidly right-wing than he is."
I had no idea that the political polarization in this country is playing a role in deciding whether or not to purchase electric vehicles...
