That ChargedEVs article very ably points out the difficulties of introducing new chemistry into an existing production environment - for the cell originators as well as both cell and vehicle manufacturers. Wildcat offers to help in that. I recall the leap of faith that both Honda and Toyota took in producing the original Insight and Prius with at that time minimally-proven (long-term) NiMh technology - and that was over 30 years after the original NiMh battery was invented! Exciting world, and we are still in its infancy. Pity that battery development lay dormant for 100 years. Now, EVs and large-scale storage are providing the impetus for its revival.
