Re: Affordable Home Charging Stations?

There is a company in California which I believe holds the rights to the name "Tesla Tap" and their Tesla to J1772 connectors are made of machined Delrin (Polyoxymethylene) which is a space age thermoplastic known for it's exceptional dimensional stability. The connector is CNC machined an...

Re: Charging Station Availability Anxiety

In 10+ years, I've never opened the ChaDeMo door on any of our iMiEV's - We've simply never used the cars that way. They're local grocery getters and we never venture so far from home that we can't get back on the charge we had when we left. Like you, we've never had a range anxiety problem as we kn...

Re: Battery Upgrade .. yes or no?

I love all my iMiEV's and I would LOVE to have a newer, larger battery, but the price is just too much for such an old car. My main concern would be the health of the onboard charger. I have always babied mine, never charging above 2.8Kw because as we all know, it doesn't cool itself very well. $13K...

Re: Buying a car/Range advice

Even if the car was new, I would hesitate to recommend buying it for a daily commute at speeds of 120km - The car will go that fast of course, but it's not a 'pleasant' experience and it's not what it was designed for - It's a city car. The original version had a small 3 cylinder gasoline engine and...

Re: Manually Moving the Shifter to Neutral

Well, this part of the problem is solved! When all else fails, get forceful! I moved the shifter to the side to get it out of the Parking detent and gave it a good, swift yank backwards and it popped right back into Drive - Moved it one notch forward and it's in Neutral . . . . I think. Doesn'...

Re: A/C Condenser Fan

Nope, the A/C is in the normal mode . . . . but the condenser fan is certainly in 'Max Mode' . . . . which I didn't even know existed

Re: Manually Moving the Shifter to Neutral

Thanks Kenny, but that ain't gonna happen ever again with this car - It dead centered an oak tree at about 25 mph and everything forward of the windshield is GONE! If worst comes to worst, I guess I can just disconnect the shifter cable from the transmission and move the lever back there . . . . but...
