Re: can you tell me what the problem may be?

If it's the original 12 volt battery, that's my first suspicion. A shorted cell in the 12 volt battery would draw a ton of power and take a few miles of range off the car. Easiest way to spot a shorted cell is the measure the voltage of the battery under the hood with the car turned off and all ligh...

Re: Erratic power drop from On to Start

Unfortunately, it does sound more and more like you have a few weak cells in the battery pack. Unless your I-MiEV sold rather late, it’s almost certain that the battery warranty is gone by now. Do you know the original purchase date? If not, you can create an account on Mitsubishicars.com and add th...

Re: Looking for pictures or measurements of Torklift Ecohitch

Thanks. I just wish the undercarriage was still that clean. Things have rusted up quite a bit since then, especially the hitch. I plan to fix that this winter, but we’ll see.

Re: Heat while plugged in

Bump it to 12 amps if the circuit can take it. The battery won’t care. Use HEAT for a few minutes to warm up the water loop, then about 5-10 minutes before leaving, switch to Defrost. That’ll put the fan to high speed and dump all the heat in the loop into the cabin.

Re: License plate rattling

I bent my plate outwards a bit on the bottom center. Still moves around but at least isn’t hitting anything now.

Re: Pretty bad transmission stuttering issue/sticking shifter.

Both of my cars are having trouble shifting but otherwise drive smooth. I’m hoping to have one put on a lift in the next month to dig deeper into the shifter cable.

Whereabouts are you located?

Glad I could help. That link expires on December 17, so I’d recommend downloading the files.

Re: Our 2014 iMiev has reached 80K miles and is still going strong!

Glad you’re enjoying it. I really wish Mitsubishi would’ve updated the drive system and kept these cars in production. I had mine at an event last year and folks kept asking if it was new. Blew their minds to hear it was 10 years old and discontinued. It just shows how timeless the design is and tha...

Here’s a couple photos and a video that should give you an idea of the interior texture of the taillight. Did my best to navigate the camera around the dimples in the video.

Re: The remote and in car settings.

It does not. The remote overrides the dial settings and provides three distinct pre-conditioning modes based on the mode you select. I personally run HEAT for about 5 minutes to pre-heat the liquid coolant loop used for the heater, and then switch to Defrost to heat the cabin much more effectively. ...
