Re: Need OnBoard Charger (OBC) box 2012Imiev Texas

That is not the charger, but an EMI filter box that is inline before the actual "charger" located in the bigger box below. The inverter or Motor Control Unit is the big box to the right. The EMI filter has a fuse and capacitor that could be at fault, but nobody has ever reported this that ...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC)

Re: [POLL] On-Board Charger and DC/DC Converter

Try a different scantool or OBDII dongle to get the DTC codes; don't know where to start without that.

Check the condition of the 12V battery, unless it has been kept fully charged all the time, then it may be degraded.

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC)

It sounds like you had a failure on the AC Input side of the OBC. The bypass resistors blew because the AC relay did not engage; maybe the relay is damaged or the 12V battery was weak or there was a fault on the upper control board or etc... You would need to read the DTC codes to determine the faul...

Re: MIEV 2011, AC charging not working

That is a nasty looking cable, like one trace has lifted and touched its neighbor and shorted. Do you think this was the initial fault damage, or did it happen during reassembly after repairs? Might want to inspect the header and replace it if there are damaged contacts inside, The diode drops in th...

Re: "P1AE7 ASC system fail"

C1505 is the code for a fault of the steering angle sensor, data list item #16 in the ASC. You could monitor it in real time on the i909 as you turn the wheel and also at steering straight ahead (should be +/-5 at the zero position). Measure the voltage of the 12V battery with no load (open circuit ...

Re: "P1AE7 ASC system fail"

Does the ASC-ECU show up in your scanner list of ECUs? Can you look at the data items for the ASC and/or any DTC codes in the ASC? Any issue with the ASC sends a fault code to the EVECU which throws the P1AE7 code. What is the age and condition of your 12 V starter battery--an old, weak or worn out ...

Re: MIEV 2011, AC charging not working

i'm having a hard time seeing the traces right now, will try again later

i think the burnt pins are related to the gate drivers for the transformers T502 and 501 on the bottom power board that drive the FETs in the waffle plate.
