Re: End of life? options for iOn

I recall some one on this forum, may have been Joes and someone, worked around a bad OBC with an external home Chamedo (10kw) charger plus a 12-v charger (for the aux battery)

Re: 12 kW chademo charging

any update on accessing the iMiev main pack for V2H ? My 2007 Fronius ig3000 grid-tie is on its last leg, so I have been browsing around looking for replacement, and ran into this hybrid grid-tie inverter series with 400vdc nominal battery input, Growatt MIN 3000-76000TL-X-US. That battery voltage r...

Re: Corporate Stupidity

I was wondering about whether the high charging profile in these up&coming EVs is detrimental to the pack longevity. I recall DCharging my pokey ChevyBolt and relishing the high rate on the BMW, Hyndai, Kia, Porsch.... These rates even made my 101kw max on my Telsa 90D seemed pokey. My guess is ...

Re: First Modern EV To Be Taken Seriously

The https://www.ozelectricvehicles.com/upgrades does rely on the more energy dense NCM chemistry in order to pack nearly 30 kwh into the original 16 kWh case, but those cells should last longer with the i-MiEV's active cooling. any one know if ozelectric also upgrade the BMS ? NCM and LFP has sligh...

it has always been my experience that restarting Chamedo after the 80% shut-off, will continue charging until 100%

Re: Bad cell - tips on dealing with Mitsu?

you can take a chance to kill it ? by keep pushing it and repeatedly at low SOC ? just be sure doing near home or have a way out in case of being stranded. May be when it gets warmer.

Re: 12v charging when plugged in but not in “ready”

can you monitor the 12v in Ready ? i use one of these monitor in the cigarette plug, mine shows 14.1v in Ready confirming DC-DC op; and usually 12.7-13.5 in Acc, prior to going into "ignition" (sorta a health/SOCharge check) https://www.amazon.com/aceyoon-Voltmeter-Cigarette-Protection-Com...

Re: 12 kW chademo charging

I'm using Enphase M15 micro-inverters with 250 watt PV panels. 26 of them total. Adding additional cells in series to an iMiEV pack probably wouldn't be very useful. Even if it was high enough voltage for the battery input on the H6 inverter, the H6 still requires communications to the battery pack...

Re: 12v Battery - All You Ever Wanted To Know

So, Question 1: Is there any more info on this battery-draining quirk? Question 2: I've seen some posts here about the relatively easy and longer life i-MiEV 12V batteries have. In my ICE cars, 5 years was pretty much the limit (likely imposed by the need to start an ICE in Boston winter weather). ...

Re: 12v Battery - All You Ever Wanted To Know

I installed lithium-titanate battery for 12v system. This battery could be charged up to 16v. I am wondering if it possible to charge it up to 15v or even 16v when car is charging main battery and charge it in regular way when car is in ready. I see 2 ways how to do it. First - connect 240v/12v to ...
