    Drag-racing the i-MiEV

I think a euro spec i-MiEV could do a little better than this due to the lower weight and different reduction gear ratio.

    Risk in buying a second-hand i-Miev

I wonder how much it would cost to ship an i-MiEV from Australia to NZ? There have been a number of "new" 2012 i-MiEVs sold recently for $25K AUD. The sums might work out to get one here and have it shipped over. Mitsubishi Australia isn't going to stock i-MiEVs in Australia anymore and the...

Our iMiEV Nicknames and What Has the iMiEV Been Called

My wife named our i-MiEV "Beepy". I think she was making reference to the Beatles song "Drive My Car" "Beep beep'm beep beep yeah"

MiEV EVO2 kickin gas at Pike's Peak!

This video briefly shows the MiEV EVO II and the track conditions at the time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIvq_WEddkc

MiEV EVO2 kickin gas at Pike's Peak!

I can't say I'm too unhappy with the 208 T16 victory, my ICE car is a Peugeot (505GTI Wagon). I consider the i-MiEV an honorary Peugeot too because of the Ion :).

MiEV EVO2 kickin gas at Pike's Peak!

Awww I just saw some video of a MiEV Evo II run, looks like the track was wet for their run on race day?

MiEV EVO2 kickin gas at Pike's Peak!

Looks like the MiEV Evo II cars were less than 10 seconds faster than last years i-MiEV Evo car. Mitsubishi must be a bit disappointed coming in second in the electric car class again. Did they overdo the battery capacity and add too much weight?

    i-MiEV cargo cover

The roller blind idea sounds great. We were in a rush to get something sorted so the car was ready for the weekly shopping run. We have a proper cargo barrier in our ICE station wagon and felt a bit exposed to flying shopping in the i-MiEV.

    i-MiEV cargo cover

No, sorry my wife doesn't enjoy sewing canvas, it's a bit tough on her domestic sewing machine LOL. Since there is some interest we will post the dimensions and details of construction. Of course the North American cars are wider so some adjustments will be required. Maybe someone will be...

    i-MiEV cargo cover

A little something my wife and I cooked up to feel safer hauling stuff around with the rear seats folded: http://ariel.its.unimelb.edu.au/~gjo/imiev/

    Strange Polystyrene Foam

What is this strange bit of polystyrene foam under the i-MiEV dash up near the top of the accelerator pedal there for? Doesn't seem a very durable material for something that is likely to get kicked!

    Australian Spec i-MiEV

Interesting to know that the UK cars have the remote. I'm guessing that they considered our climate too mild to need the pre-heat function. I wonder if our cars have the hardware to support the remote and they just don't provide it or is the circuitry missing? Maybe it's something that could be...

    Australian Spec i-MiEV

I bought the i-MiEV for $29,990 drive away from Chadstone Mitsubishi, I think that is just the current price for the remaining 2012 i-MiEV stock. They only had a blue demonstrator with the DVD/NAV package in stock but it had 2,000 km on it, they were asking $27,800 drive away for it. I asked...

    Australian Spec i-MiEV

Another difference between i-MiEV variants is the lack of the "B" and "C" modes on the gear selector on Peugeot Ion and Citroen C Zero models. Speaking of which, is the "Eco" (USA cars) and "C" (Australian cars) the same thing?

    Australian Spec i-MiEV

I'm in Melbourne. The local Mitsubishi dealer has a fast charger (30 minutes to 80%) but access is limited, you have to book in with their service department to use it. The standard Australian charger is 240V with a 15 Amp plug. About 7 hours for a full charge. I think it is limited to around...
