According to a news release, Suzuki and Mitsubishi intend to build their cooperation to a full scale supply by March 2013. Suzuki will sell the Mitsubishi electric vehicles under it’s brand, adding the first EV to it’s lineup.
Mitsubishi will build about 4000 vehicles for Suzuki this fiscal year. The 2 companies plan for an initial supply of the mini commercial electric vehicle to be available in February 2012. What isn’t clear is what country these will be available in – perhaps only Japan.
The Mitsubishi Minicab Miev commercial vehicle is estimated to have a shorter range than the Mitsubishi i-Miev – this was done to help lower costs. They are aiming for a price of around $25000 USD (¥2,000,000) after subsidies.
