The Mitsubishi i is a 5 door, energy efficient electric vehicle that will launch in Hawaii, Oregon, California, and Washington as early as November 2011. Mitsubishi is planning a nationwide rollout of the I-miev for 2012.
With an MSRP of $27990 and a U.S. federal tax credit of $7500, U.S. buyers can get into a Mitsubishi i for around $20 thousand, which makes the Mitsubishi i the most affordable electric vehicle on the market. Hawaiian customers are eligible for another $4500 clean energy rebate, reducing the Mitsubishi i-miev price to under $16,000!
Energy program administrator for Hawaii thanked Mitsubishi for making Hawaii the first state to receive the Mitsubishi I-miev electric vehicle. Hawaii has a goal of being 70 percent clean energy within one generation, and the Mitsubishi i electric car is and other electric vehicles are an important step towards that goal.
