I've just exceeded my best range.

Forgive this post if it's getting boring but It's exciting for me. I'm in the U.K. and we've not had much of a summer this year, moderate heat today 17 Centigrade and much rain. I fully charged the car from near empty on Monday, did 56 miles then parked up until today. After a road closed...

    A Case of Diminishing Return

O.K. Don, I didn't realize that you were on a crusade here, I am merely expressing the wish for slightly more range. I did say 150-200 miles would be nice but you keep quoting me as saying 200 miles and three times the capacity. As for losing 5% when carrying passengers, I drove two friends...

    A Case of Diminishing Return

Re Don's remark about not being able to use my I-MiEV with the same freedom as my Honda Legends before it, of course this was entirely predictable and I had hoped that the infrastructure in the U.K. would quickly allow unhindered roaming within our small island, indeed it did seem to be...

    A Case of Diminishing Return

At least I've got someone in my corner, DonDakin. Don (The Mod) I know you know your stuff, I've read many of your posts here, but without involving in considerable calculation I dare to say that what is needed for a considerable increase in range would cost a great deal less than a 60kWh...

    A Case of Diminishing Return

Sorry to disagree with everyone, it must be a Brit thing, but as a happy I-MiEV driver for about a year I want one with a bigger battery. I almost certainly do less miles than most I-MiEV'ers here and I got rid of two Honda Legends when I bought mine and haven't needed another vehicle for any...

    ECOTRICITY FAST CHARGING POINTS

In the U.K. there is a half useable infrastructure of Rapid (ChaDEmo) chargers that have been installed by ECOTRICITY. Everywhere else there are Fast/Slow chargers which charge at 32 amps / 13 amps, with the i-MiEV the 32 amp chargers will only charge at 13 amps. Is there anybody out there who...

Heat Pump HVAC on new JDM iMiEV models

How do you put your name down for the 30 day trial (and EV PowerBox) ? I'm interested but in the U.K.

Charging from a public charge point in UK

Hi KPS70 , I've always thought that never being more than 25 miles from a Rapid charger was the ideal, but I certainly wouldn't argue with you. Of course if one was 25 miles from Rapid chargers, it might mean they are 50 miles apart. :?

Charging from a public charge point in UK

Rapid/CHAdeMO is the only thing that makes extended runs feesable in my opinion, it certainly makes them much less painful, but for what we call destination charging fast (13/16 amp at 240 volts) is O.K. , but not for weigh point charging. I'm sorry if you don't have CHAdeMO at the moment JOES...

Charging from a public charge point in UK

I bought a Mitsubishi i-MiEV in Wallasey, Wirral England in July 2013. On Monday 16th September I travelled from Heswall where I live to Bradford, a distance of 80'ish miles. I first drove to Manchester for a top up charge (13/16 amp). I then set the SatNav for the Bradford address and was...
