I have purchased an aftermarket seat heater for the passenger in my iMiev. It plugs into the cigarette lighter. Does that pull only from the 12V battery or from the main propulsion battery? How does the 12V battery get recharged? Is it possible to drain it too quickly with an infrared seat...
Are you using the heater at all? That's a real drain on the battery. Preheat the car while plugged and and use only the seat heater once underway. And stick to secondary roads (or to 90-95kph on freeways)... You should find a big improvement. We can still routinely get >100km out of a single...

tried your suggestions and with the fan speed and heat pre-set manually from within the car the remote was able to warm up the car very nicely - my wife said the car was "very toasty" this morning when she left.
