Now that’s a prize! Chad Miller, a language arts teacher in Hawaii received the designation of teacher of the year. Part of his prize was a brand new Mitsubishi i! He was handed the keys to the all electric Mitsubishi i in front of Washington Place.
Miller will get to drive the Mitsubishi i free for an entire year and will be provided with two AeroEnvironment charging stations. One will be installed at his residence, and the other will be installed at his parking space at Kailua High School. I wonder if driving the Mitsubishi i free for an entire year includes his electrical costs to charge the Mitsubishi i-MiEV at home?
Mitsubishi Motors North America President and Cheif Executive officer said Hawaii is a great location for electric vehicles – Hawaii could be an example to the world for all electric, zero emissions vehicles. Hawaii does have tons of sun, lots of wind, and waves and tides all around so there are plenty of ways to be generating green electricity, but just because the Mitsubishi i-Miev is totally emissions free in Hawaii doesn’t mean other areas of the world will be able to replicate that.
The US spec Mitsubishi i-Miev, called the Mitsubishi i, is still planned to arrive early 2012.
