I'm going camping next month. The site says they have 30A connections at my tent site. On this page, I see a note that says that these connections are 30A 120V.

So just verifying, this will not be any benefit over a 20A 120v 5-15 outlet correct?

Because the site also has that.

Correct - If you had one of these, you could plug it into that 30 amp outlet and charge using 240 volts at 3Kw

Correct - that's a 20A outlet into which you're plugging in your 15A plug.

Bradleydavidgood777, the link you provided was for Teslas - specifically, the Tesla configuration for utilizing high-current 120vac from a TT-30 fed into the 14-50R connector is non-standard. Not of any benefit to us because a TT-30P-to-5-15R adapter works just fine. Besides, as you pointed out, the campground has a conventional 5-15 outlet anyway.

Yes, in talking with RV parks when we're looking to charge we have to emphasize that we want 240vac (normally NEMA 14-50) and not their "30A" which is 120vac and normally uses a TT-30 connector. The RV "lingo" is that "50A" means 240vac and "30A" means 120vac.

That's an interesting step-up transformer Don identified and I bet Rick could have used this on his Route 66 trip, but I'd be a little wary -
1. The fine print says to derate it by 50%, meaning it's a 2kW unit not 3kW. Need to dial down the current drawn by the car with a programmable EVSE. BDG: I forget, can you dial down your Amazing-E to only provide 8A on 240vac?
2. The outlet connector looks to be a German single-ended 240vac rather than the US-standard split-phase. With the right adapter we might still be ok, but I dunno about proper grounding.
3. That sucker weighs 30#

Hey, if you're camping, an overnight charge on 120vac works just fine.
