Has anyone else put their imiev in a race event/s?

eg.

I only started from April onwards.

Congrats! I see that during the first heat of one event you beat three Subaru WRX! Just warming up their gear, eh? From the photos it appears you are running stock wheels. Any tire changes? Is the understeer still predictable at the limits?
I had an opportunity this summer, but ran Karmann Eclectric instead- not having a helper on hand to haul both cars to the track! Seattle EVA president Steven Lough ran his i down the quarter-mile once for fun. (19.8 sec, 68.4 mph)

beat the WRX cos it went the wrong way and had time penalty.

yes stockish tyres for now
155 now in front, amazing how 10mm on both sides makes such a difference, especially with crosswinds
175 rear
may get better tyres from John Fowler Autos
inspired by Smart 0.7 Turbo car which had phats on. Smart uses same tyre profiles as i-MiEV
145 and 175 standard.

Going off-topic real quick, but have you noticed much range loss with 155 on front? Also, what size and brand tires are you using on front (I know 155 wide, but is sidewall 60)? I've driven an i3 with 155 front and 175 rear (though on 19" wheels), and that thing was solid at 65 mph.

I've raced an i-MiEV on Gran Turismo 5, but not in real life. That game is actually how I discovered the i-MiEV.

not sure if it is psychological
as there may be multiple variables involved
eg. battery age headwind
but I feel that there is a loss in range.
the car feels less rollly polly hence more rolling resistance.

acmotor on the AEVA forums believes that there is no discernible range loss.
he has eco contact continental 155s in front
he still has his original dunlops on the rear

Due to my racing I have kumhos all round now.
Kumhos
175/55R15 77T rears
155/60R15 74T fronts

Okay- so some brave MiEVers took to the track in Japan recently.

From the way they were left way behind the pack (and even lapped) by the LEAFS, I'm guessing that these Japanese hobbyists haven't figured out how to upgrade the inverter either. With a bit of reprogramming to i-EVO specs, the MiEV could be quite a sleeper...

Speaking of sleepers, don't let the starting line footage of the electrathon-style racers at that EVent leak out. I'm assuming it was an endurance race, because even a crawling baby could have beat them out of the gate!
