Hi,
Altough I am a LEAF owner, I am lookiing for a iMiEV owner nearby.
I live in Laguna Hills, CA 92653

I am working with some other iMiEV owners to instrument
the car to Log the CAN-bus Messages that appear at the OBD
connector. My SOC/GID-Meter should be able to Log the messages
using my CAN-Do program (for a Windows OS) on a PC.
It works on the LEAF, and should log data from the iMiEV.

In this geographic area, and nearby, EV owners are invited to meet
Saturday morning and have breakfast (no host) at a HomeTown Buffet.
We have been meeting for just over two years.

See, in the LEAF forum:
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=9695

The next meeting is the 13th of Oct at the HTB in Cerritos CA.
Exit South St. off 605 (just south of 90) and go east about 3 blocks,
than turn north into the shopping center.

This location is within about 8 miles of the Mitsubishi Headquarters
in Cypress, CA, where a Quick Charge station is usually available.
If you have never tried a QC, you might become a "user".

Then, two weeks later, we meet at the HTB on 17th Street
just east of I-5 in Santa Ana.

We welcome those with kind spirits and EV interests.

I just checked the locations in the User Profiles of the 94 members
with 4 or more posts (out of 441 members), and found only about 50%
have filled in their location.

I encourage you to update your profile, using the User Control Panel
at the upper right corner of the page.

A simple city and state or country usually works well, without giving
away your exact location, and then your location helps others
answer your questions better.

The closest that I found was one in Southern California, in Simi Valley,
not close enough to get to for a logging test.

Just a word of caution.

Certian devices connected up to the OBD2 connector of a iMiEV may cause driveability concerns. Dash warning lights, DTCs, loss of acceleration and possible limp in mode.

Mitsubishi has a TSB out for this one.

My Logging does not write anything to the CAN bus, it only
listens passively to the Messages that the vehicle generates.

Writing to the bus is disabled in the CAN interface hardware.

So, using my SOC/GID-Meter for logging should not cause
a problem. However, I appreciate the warning, and will
avoid using any devices that might write to the bus.

Is there any way to get a copy of that TSB warning?

Or, at least the TSB number so that I can ask a nearby
dealer for a look at it. Is it TSB 12-54-003?

I would like to know more details in order to be extra cautious.

Again, thanks for the heads up.
Cheers, Gary

Ouch! The silence is deafening!
Surely there's someone with an iMiEV close to Laguna Hills?
Sadly, I'm 400 miles away, and don't have the time to do the marathon trip.

This is really important help that Gary and the CAN team are providing our iMiEV community, as accessing and deciphering our iMiEV's onboard information will benefit all of us. He's talking about simply looking at some signals on the iMiEV's test connector. These measurements are really benign and completely non-harmful to the vehicle.
Would someone close to Gary be kind enough to help out, pretty please? :geek: Just send him a PM.
Thank you.

Hi,
I am a LEAF owner in Laguna Hills, and we have Gatherings for
kind, friendly souls interested in EV and related subjects.
Although most of our people are LEAFers, others are welcome.

Our next meeting is Saturday 27 October, for breakfast at the
Hometown Buffet on 17th Street in Santa Ana, just 2 blocks East
of the I-5 freeway (17th Street exit).

I am usually there from 8 to 11 AM.
You might consider joining us and enjoy getting to
ask questions about EV's, Solar Power, and... Life.

Cheers, Gary
