Hi All,

The Green Drive Expo (SF Bay Area) is going to be at Craneway Pavilion, Richmond, CA on Saturday, September 15, 2012 10am - 5pm.

I went last year and of course there were a bunch of Nissan Leafs and no Mitsubishi i-MiEV. Its that time again this year and I still see no mention of the i-MiEV. Mitsubishi really needs to wake up.

Maybe a few of us could sign up to display our cars at the owners showcase. I am going to sign up right now, hope to see you there.

Hi John,
Glad you're taking your car there and will have it on exhibit. Nice event in a spectacular showroom.
Be sure to take your L1 EVSE and an extension cord with you, as they may not have J1772 or even 240v.
Yes, one would think that Mitsubishi would be one of their sponsors. Toyota is in it, big time, with demo rides.
I had participated in this event with my Gen1 Insight two years ago, both displaying it on the showroom as well as participating in their economy run (which they no longer conduct). You might make a cardboard placard to stick in the windshield with all the pertinent iMiEV facts (I'll PM you an example). Helps to point out to people that this is your own private car you're showing so they'll be a little more careful with it.
Even though we could do it in the iMiEV, at 59.0 miles from my house (mostly Interstate) this Saturday event is an example of needing a backup vehicle as we'll be time-constrained. We'll go up in the Insight but won't participate this year. Let's see, 120miles/80miles/gallon*$4.20/gallon = $6.30 for gasoline  Sheesh, these ICE's are expensive compared to running my iMiEV.
See you there,
JoeS.

John, nice seeing you there and delighted you were able to show off your iMiEV, and in such a strategic location as well! Don't understand why Mitsubishi did not have a display. Nice pictures, also showing the Tesla's capacious "Frunk" (front trunk). Two years ago when I displayed my Gen1 Insight at this show I was the only Insight there, whereas this year I counted eight! Wish we had been able to stay for the discussions (needed to hurry off to a reunion 75 miles away), as I really enjoyed Chelsea Sexton the last time I heard her speak. For ourselves, we drove our Gen1 Insight up there (I hypermiled a bit to minimize contributing to BigOil), but it was only 59.7 miles and our actual mpg had dropped by the time I took this picture after wandering around the parking lots.

At the end of the keynote discussion Chelsea indicated that she would like to interview some EV owners in San Francisco in a couple weeks. The i-MiEV was specifically mentioned along with the other EVs. SF is a bit too far for me so if anyone is in SF or doesn't mind a long trip up there I suspect that Eric at GreenDriveExpo can get a message to Chelsea Sexton.
