While driving my car in a heavy rain I noticed that the sweep rate (not the speed) of my windshield washers was not constant but seemed to vary and increase in number of sweeps per second as the car's speed increased.

It didn't rain long enough to verify if I were imagining this and I haven't had a chance to investigate further.

I was wondering if others may have noticed this or whether I should be concerned about a possible 12 volt electrical problem (weak 12 volt battery?).

Yes the wipe-rate is sensitive to vehicle-speed when the stalk switch is in the INT position. Supposedly a dealer can turn this off with the MUT.

Another dealer MUT feature is that the operation of the spray washer can be separated from the wipe action by a dealer. This would allow spraying the windshield with a lot of fluid before trying to scrap it with the wiper blade, if desired.
