Hey Guys! Yep, lots of adventures lately, mostly tearing down my garage. I've also used the towing ability a fair number of times. Pulling a 12'x6' utility trailer works great!

For the garage, the plan is to rebuild, larger, with insulation, heat, and lots of solar panels on the roof. In the mean-time, I rewired my breaker panel onto my back porch so that I can still charge on 240V!

My latest is that I just crammed some insulation under the dashboard on the driver's side of my car. Although the ethanol heater works well, not having an engine (or even a real firewall) in the front of the car sure lets a lot of cold air in! I tucked some "radiant barrier" style insulation in there. It's easy to work with, flexible, etc., which makes it work in such an odd-shaped space. I was also able to tuck it under the carpet.

I hope that having the insulation under the carpet and then all the way up and under the accelerator and brake should help keep some cold air out and heat in.
Here's the blog entry on it: http://300mpg.org/2016/11/01/insulating-an-electric-car/

Here's the start of me cramming some insulation in there.

Here's what it looked like when it was all done:

The weather has been oddly warm lately. I won't know how well the insulation works until it gets colder out. The other thing is that if I'm not happy with the insulation, it's very easy either to remove or add more insulation.
