I thought I'd better have one handy, in case I ever get caught outside my range (like trying to get to SF, ha ha). It seems like they have a majority of the charging locations here in the Bay Area. I'm not sure how many are free (I suspect most are), but I put money on the card just in case.

I thought/did the same thing. Since I got my chargepoint card, I've only encountered Blinks! Unfortunately it's a mixed bag out there and you need them all. At least you don't have to prime the blink card.
 
I use a ChargePoint card and it's free at some locations but when I attempted to sign up for a Blink card the website stated that I get charged $2.50/hr unless I paid a $30 annual fee?
