Check out this video I just came across, at the end they put it through the soak test... that would make me nervous!

I must admit, I puckered up a little taking my iMiev into the local car wash. Not the water per se but the under body jets being blasted directly on the pack made me wonder if the whole thing would cut out on me.

Luckily all was well though...

LOL! I have only handwashed my imiev to date, although there is a new carwash I would like to try... good to know we can drive through deep puddles without worry.

Ya, driving through water like that is pretty scary. But to me the most interesting part of the video was that slalom test - take a close look (they're on a split screen) at the difference between the MiEV and gas versions of the car. The i looks pretty tippy, but the i-MiEV goes through almost eerily flat, the effect of the massive battery cum stabilizer bolted to the bottom of the car. This is pretty consistent with what I've experienced in real world driving. Living in a city that is truly windy for several straight weeks every year (first part of "spring" - and we LAUGH at Chicago!), I figured I'd have my hands full for that part of the year, but quite the opposite. The i-MiEV keeps its composure in crosswinds better than either of our Toyotas did (Prius or Matrix), the only exception being during freeway cruising (where the i exhibits a wee bit o' wanderlust to start with). Its aerodynamics aren't any better than those other cars - it's just really really hard to move it the slightest bit off vertical.

Very cool video. I didn't have any worries taking my Meepster through the car washes. However, now I have a sudden craving to get one of those Jeep snorkels for the battery pack and take this baby fjording!

I guess you dont need snorkels. Carefully seal the doors and windows and apply a little pressure to the cabin could do it. As long as the inside stays dry the battery will do the same.

I always wanted to go swimming with ours but the magic is keeping the water below the bottom of the doors and that is quite low.

Sounds like too much work and too little confidence it will actually work. Guess I'll just keep waiting for the day Jeep ever makes an EV Rubicon!

wow really very Great video is too good it is very amazing I wish I could've been there. It just seems like it'll look even better in all these curves . keep it up Hope you will share more ideas and pictures, I wish you good luck
