Model year & Mileage - 2011 / 106 000 km

Did the car serve your routine needs or not - yes, definely. I have mostly parked my Toyota Landcruiser diesel.

Did the car - come short or surpassed your expectations? - It met my expectations
Pleasant Surprise - 1) Nice to drive (all automatic, no noise), able to drive up to 130 km/h, excellent city car (parking, driving) 2) Battery capacity seems to drop less than expected
Biggest Disappointment - Price drop of almost 40% on sticker price until my second year of ownership

Have you had any Major electrical/mechanical failures -
Covered by warranty - Driving light in front, front seat heating, rear brakes
Not covered - None

Can you share any other comments on your 4 year experience -

If you could do it over again would you have bought the i Miev? - Given the same setting as was in 2011, yes. Given the setting today with a lot more electric cars with increased range and acceptable price, no.

Model year & Mileage - 2012, 54,000 miles

Did the car serve your routine needs or not - yes

Did the car - come short or surpassed your expectations? - surpass
Pleasant Surprise - cargo capacity
Biggest Disappointment - remote functions finicky with different EVSE models

Have you had any Major electrical/mechanical failures -
Covered by warranty - nope
Not covered - nope

Can you share any other comments on your 4 year experience - The i is an under-appreciated over-achiever

If you could do it over again would you have bought the i Miev? - No, I'd have leased it and then bought a lower-mileage lease return!

Model year & Mileage --- 2012 SE, purchased Feb.2012; 44,000miles (from memory)

Did the car serve your routine needs or not --- admirably!

Did the car - come short or surpassed your expectations? --- surpassed
Pleasant Surprise --- it immediately became the PRIMARY family car
Biggest Disappointment --- that badmouthing by ignorant reviewers contributed to squashing public acceptance of this wonderful workhorse

Have you had any Major electrical/mechanical failures --- no
Covered by warranty --- n/a
Not covered --- n/a

Can you share any other comments on your 4 year experience --- liked it so much that I bought two used i-MiEV Premium SEs (with CHAdeMO and Nav)

If you could do it over again would you have bought the i Miev? --- YES!, but agree with jray3 that in hindsight the depreciation hit was greater than expected and a lease followed by used car purchase would have been more cost-effective.

(presently in New Orleans on Tesla x-country tour)
