Well, I purchased a TeslaTap. https://www.ebay.com/itm/142544249020
Works with both my Tesla HPWC and UMC. Seems well made. Although a bit pricy ($250), it allows me to use Tesla charging stations both at home and on the road with my i-MiEV. Plugshare shows around 750 Tesla (non-Supercharger) charging stations in North America - I came across many in my cross-country trips in the Tesla. One more addition to my box of tricks.http://www.katiekat.net/Vehicles/Mitsi/EVSEAdaptersJoeS.pdf
Of course I plan on checking with the station owner and get their permission to charge. I've made a sign to put on the i-MiEV windshield informing the Tesla driver that it's ok to disconnect and providing my cellphone number in case I need to move. At this point in history I don't think doing this will be an issue, but all it takes is a few bad apples for antagonism to flare up. We'll see...
