Mitsubishi Motors has started developing an electric truck that will be targeted at ranchers, farmers, and contractors who use light trucks for their work.
The Mitsubishi electric truck will be powered by an electric motor and will allow users to charge the battery pack off of normal household power outlets. According to Reuters, Mitsubishi is hoping to sell 42,000 electric vehicles in the 2012 fiscal year, double the number projected for the 2011 fiscal year.
The Mitsubishi electric truck will be priced around the $19,500 mark and is expected to launch in Mitsubishi's fiscal 2012 year. Mitsubishi aims to make the vehuicle cheaper than the Mitsubishi i-Miev and the Mitsubishi Mini-cab that are currently on sale now.
