AustinEV (Austin Area Automobile Association) Meeting

I signed up for the AustinEV group and lucked out that their monthly meeting was Saturday the 9th at 5pm at Rockin' Tomato Pizza so I headed down after work.
When I got there they had me pull in next to one of these:

The owner Mark Kapner had owned an electric Geo Metro that he had converted and had had this shipped down from Indianapolis.
The I-MiEV went over way big with several people getting in the front and backseats and taking plenty of pictures of it and a few even saying they were going over to the dealership on Monday! Was interesting meeting with members who had several project vehicles (like a Ford Exlorer) in the works and meeting employees of an electric scooter dealer called Electric Avenue ...

Sounds like fun.

I was looking at your link for the Think City. For that price you could get an i-MiEV and now a Leaf. I wonder how they are able to sell them at all.

Indeed! The owner Mark had admitted that the motor and battery were tiny ... and that the company had been in and out of bankruptcy a few times ...
