I saw this article (though is about Canadian i-MiEv's)
http://www.wheelstalk.com/2013/news-2/mitsubishis-all-electric-i-miev-enhanced-for-2013/

Just released by Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN), the 2013 i-MiEV hatchback features an improved 120-volt, two-mode cable that can reduce charging time from 22 to 14 hours (from empty). The more common 240-volt Level Two charger is unchanged, requiring up to seven hours from empty.

The EVSEupgraded charging cable will charge at only one amperage, 12, but at between 120 and 240 v., whereas the 2013 Canadian charging cable will charge at either 8 or 12 amps, but at only 120 v.

Update: Per another recent thread/topic here....since this above post the third party EVSE upgraded charger goes one better than that. It allows charging at anything between 8 and 12.5 amps in one amp increments on both 120volts and 240 volts.

See:

for details and reports from happy buyers of the newer upgrade.

In short, functionally superior to the stock 2013 MiEV charger. But that said, buyers of the 2013 MiEVs get a far more practical charger from Mitsubishi than we pre-2013-model buyers got.
