After looking, there appear to be a small number of i-Miev related YouTube movies out there. So something is going on there. But this bugs me. Why is Mitsubishi committing electric vehicle efforts to Tailand and not here?

Mission statement I would suspect. The car in that link looks to be one of the older-gen Imiev's, as was tested during the CABLED trial in the UK c. 2009-10 (Uk chosen as largest right hand drive market in Europe I suspect). Thailand also a RHD market.
