When the last electric cars, that were bought under the government subsidies program in Estonia, reached to the owners, buying of such vehicles fell sharply. This year, not a single electric car was sold in April, May, June and August. Since February 2015 only 9 electric cars have been bought in Estonia. Application for the Government subsidies for electric cars ended in August, last year, and after that only some Teslas are bought here.
In the end of August 2015 there were 548 Mitsubishi i-MiEVs (most popular, because the Government only bought 507 i-MiEVs) and 381 Nissan Leafs in Estonia.
Tesla Model S was on the third place with total 41 cars, followed by the Volkswagen Up! with 40 cars. Fifth was the Mia Mia with 20 cars.
Total 21 different electric car models were registered in Estonia by August 2015.
