I went to a Phx EAA meeting a day or so ago and learned that Arizona Public Service (APS) has a rate plan for electric car owners. According to APS, I will save about $250.00 per year by switching to the plan. The lowest tier is between 11 pm and 5 am at 4¢ per Kw, which I thought was quite good.

Any other electric car rate plans out there?

$0.04/kWh sure sounds attractive! If you have solar, do the math as the EV rate may end up costing more. That was my conclusion with California's PG&E rate structure for my solar installation and energy utilization. Isn't Arizona's utility pulling some shenanigans lately for people with solar?

It does appear that they are. We don't have solar yet and are considering it, hence our hesitation at the plan. Our hesitation also results from the 12 to 7 pm time being 25¢ per kw, which is clearly an ouch.
