Re: Lost regen with new tires

i love regen and wouldn't want to give it up, but would like to go bigger front and rear. I am going to put 175/55R15's on the front and 185/60R15's on the back in the not too distant future. I'm relatively sure those sizes will work and not affect regen. I'm having a pair of 15 X 5.5 Mini wheels c...

Re: Lost regen with new tires

I *think* even a small difference is enough to inhibit regen if the rears are smaller than the fronts by any amount - With the rear wheels turning more revolutions compared to the front than the computer thinks is normal, it assumes (I assume) that the rear end has lost traction, so adding regen to ...

Letting everyone know where it's located would be a good idea. Good luck with your sale!

Re: Why is 240V 3x faster than 120V

It doesn't - You can't 'measure' how fast the car charges by attempting to judge how 'many bars per hour' you *think* you're getting Volts X amps = Watts. 120 volts @ 12 amps is exactly half of what 240 volts @ 12 amps is. The charger can draw a maximum of 3.3 Kw, which divided by 240 equals 13.75 a...

Re: Practical solutions for extending cold weather range

If I'm really diligent, I'll jack the car up in freezing temps, press the accelerator and measure the amps vs wheelspeed, then do the same after heating the oil... Will it show wheelspeed . . . . or does the speedo run off a front wheel? With my old Corvairs, (VW's too?) the speedo was dr...

Re: Practical solutions for extending cold weather range

Remember, the RR number you get after a full recharge is mostly affected by what happened in the last 15 miles of driving immediately before you recharged - If you were using the climate controls during those 15 miles, your new RR number will be lower than it would be if you were using no climate c...

Re: Conversions

I suppose it could be done . . . . by someone who is very well versed in computer controlled EV's and understands how all the components 'talk' to one another and can modify the software to make it all work, but I think it would be impossible for most people to do - I've never heard of it being done...
