Re: Range and Charging Observations and Questions

Only the older cars came with an 8 amp EVSE - Yours *should be* a 12 amp unit. I don't know if they are 8/12 switchable or not. You may be using 12 amps already. L2 at 240 would be TWICE as fast as that 'Preheating' by definition is warming up the car using AC power, so it doesn't decrease your rang...

Re: Range and Charging Observations and Questions

I'll add a few comments here - First, I think what you're experiencing is pretty much normal. With the heater on, going 70 or 75 in the winter time with a cold battery you will see a drastic reduction in range - 50% under those circumstances doesn't surprise me Second, I do believe from my personal ...

Re: Need EV BatMon Help in North Central New Jersey

If it was working normally hen you last drove it in Florida, I suspect what you're seeing now is probably the result of the bitter cold. I think you'll find when it warms up, things will be back to near normal

Re: Our Gas Free Miles Travelled

Gotcha!

It was the 'coal-fired' part that threw me - They don't burn much coal in Seattle to generate electricity and as it turns out, not much longer in Denver either

Re: TPMS on i-MiEVs

Of note: - Expected battery life is between five and ten years, depending on the sensor. - The battery is sealed inside the sensor and not serviceable. - DTCs C1910, C1920, C1930, & C1940 indicate low sensor battery voltage in individual tires. Yes, that means we're all going to be dealing with...

Re: TPMS on i-MiEVs

From what I have read . . . . take that for what it's worth . . . . you can reset the car to a new, second set of sensors with this tool which plugs in to the OBD port - https://www.amazon.com/ATEQ-QuickSet-TPMS-Reset-Tool/dp/B008SCWXN4/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1514838503&...

Re: TPMS on i-MiEVs

Getting ready to (finally) mount my BMW Mini 15 X 5.5 wheels on one of our cars and while searching for TPMS sensors to put in the new wheels I ran across this Mitsu TSB which covers our cars https://www.schradersensors.com/sites/default/files/2017-07/Mitsubishi_tsb1231001_0.pdf Lots of useful infor...

Re: 2016/17 Passenger Air Bag Recall

The 'high humidity' factor was quoted in millions of airbag recalls - Early on, they were only going to recall them for cars which lived in higher than usual humidity conditions - Southern coastal and island locations. I think this was only discovered when airbags which were several years old were s...

Re: Routine Maintenance

When ours was new I went 6 miles past the "--" at about 45 mph and didn't see the turtle, so there must have been even a little more left. Never did that again! As the battery pack ages, there's fewer and fewer miles hidden there though Ten bucks for less than $2 worth of electricity is a ...
