Re: Single->Double Din Radio, Rear Camera, USB/Aux, Mic Inst

PV1 had some great instructions for removing door panels, and there were also instructions from Plankton for removing the radio trim. I couldn't find information about removing other panels, like the floor panels that run along the side, the cargo panels, the lower dash panels, and maybe the front ...

Re: Electric lawn Mowers - who uses them ?

I am going to guess that there are a few of you that use the Electric lawn mowers !?? What do you all use ? I have about 1/3 acre of grass to mow and I use the 56V Lithium EGO mower I purchased at Home Depot. I am starting my second season with the EGO mower and it has worked well. The removable ba...

Re: Battery only charging halfway

Is there a way of putting some kind of barrier between the battery and the hoses? Probably not an easy task if someone could do it at all. I don't think that having temperature sensor #64 read higher during charging has any effect on the battery, and it only an assumption that the radiator hose is ...

Re: Battery only charging halfway

... even though both the failed #87 cell and the typically hot-running sensor are on the right side of the CaniOn screen, I don't know what their relative proximity is within the battery pack. Didn't someone identify that particular temperature sensor as being close to a coolant line? Temperature s...

Re: Battery only charging halfway

Over the last several weeks the car's range has been diminishing and battery charging has deteriorated. Here are the symptoms, roughly in chronological order: Joe, Thanks for this very informative post. Your CaniOn readings confirm that the State-of-Charge percentage (SoC%) is calculated using the ...

Re: Upgrading the heating system to bioethanol or Diesel fue

I do keep the car in the garage when charging so the battery temp climbs while its in the garage. Hi Don, It has been especially cold in New Jersey lately, and I recently took some battery temperature readings using Canion. I also keep my car in the garage, and the garage stays above freezing even ...

Re: Upgrading the heating system to bioethanol or Diesel fue

I managed to turtle the car on sat and sunday. Very uncomfortable to see the turtle but i was glad to have canion so i could look at the percent left as we dug into the turtle. I brought the car down to 5 % on saturday and 6 % on sunday in order to get home. Did you look at the voltage on your batt...

Re: Solar charging - what size/type inverter, etc?

I figured on the shorted cell scenario even though it's an unlikely possibility. I have each battery wired to a positive and a negative busbar using #10 wire and each positive is fused within 2 inches of the battery positive post with a 15 or 20 amp fuse (Depending on condition and size of the used...

Re: Solar charging - what size/type inverter, etc?

Your off-grid system would work well with a Level 1 EVSE to charge an electric vehicle during a sunny day. I hope so. I've used it to power lower wattage chargers on smaller EV's (motorcycle for instance). The example I used is emergency usage that I have tested. In regular use I have a larger bank...

Re: Solar charging - what size/type inverter, etc?

For example I have an electric clothes dryer modified to run on 120v instead of 240v (a simple internal rewire) It pulls just under 2000 watts continuously and dries wet towels or anything in 65 minutes or less. That works out to a 170 amp load on a 12 volt system. I use a 2000 watt inverter for it...
