Re: 14" Wheels

It will be interesting to see what tires sizes you end up going with , front and rear, so that ASC and regenerative braking aren't adversely affected. Hint . . . . you don't need tires the same exact circumference as the OEM sizes, but you do have to carefully maintain the difference between the fro...

Re: Why and how to get and program a third key

So the procedure to program a new key's transponder that is in the owner's manual is good. And if I were to do this again, I would have the transponder measured and compared before bothering to have the key cut. A helpful post - Thanks! So , , , , what you're saying is . . . . the original 3rd key ...

Re: Recent recall for brake vacuum pump. Issue of distant dealership.

The problem I face is my nearest Mitsubishi service is 192 miles away. Even if I had the fast-charge port, which I don't, it would be an onerous round trip. So my first question is "How many of you who got this notice face a similar situation of nearest dealer to far away to reach on one charg...

He could even do that - Just set each EVSE to draw 20 amps, or one to draw 30 and the other to draw 10 . . . . but he'll never have to worry about that charging two iMiEv's

Re: Charging two i-Mievs

A single 14-50 socket near the garage door makes the most sense, if you're going to go to the trouble to have an electrician install anything. With a proper home made wye pigtail, you could easily plug two EVSE's, either L1 or L2 or one of each into that single socket. Maximum versatility, minimum c...

Re: Front wheel bearing replacement

I did a few forum searches and found no info on anyone else performing this repair. I think you're probably the first one here to change a wheel bearing - You'll be adding to our knowledge base for sure! The front spindles and bearings are different on out iMiEV's than just about any other car I ca...

Re: Charging two i-Mievs

Also, you can have your OEM Panasonic EVSE 'upgraded' to 12 amps and it will do 12 amps on either 120 volts L1 or on 240 volts L2. Since the car uses less than 14 amps on L2, an upgraded EVSE will charge at better than 90% of the maximum possible . . . . and, if you need to use L1, it will provide 1...

Re: I Just Noticed That The Ammeter Moves When The Heater Is Turned ON

Joe put an ammeter on the power cable many years ago, as we were all curious about what it's telling us - It's documented here on an old thread IIRC, the full scale of the dash meter is right at 150 amps and the max regen before it pegs in the other direction is right at 50 amps, but the car will re...

Re: Recent recall for brake vacuum pump. Issue of distant dealership.

This time I'm going to try to get them to just send me, or a local mechanic, the part. If they're smart, they'll take that route. They are smart, so they know they can't do that. It's a safety recall, so the parts have to be installed by a trained Mitsubishi technician, likely for legal reasons - I...
