Re: Aftermarket Wheels

Great find!! Those are much nicer looking wheels (IMO) than the factory alloys that came on the North American version of the iMiEV

Re: Neutrik Powercon True 1 connectors

For all the folks using extension cords - look online at voltage drop calculators and try to keep it to no more than a 5% drop. This can be figured out with the extension length & gauge, and amps load. And then there's de-rating for things like running across a hot asphalt parking lot... Also, ...

Re: Neutrik Powercon True 1 connectors

I think he chose the Neutrik connectors because they are waterproof and there's no way you can shock yourself using them in a wet environment - We can't say that about very many NEMA choices

The other adapter that I carry (in my Volt) is a NEMA 6-50 Welder Plug

Re: Aftermarket Wheels

Yes, fronts are larger You can see the steel collar on the photo at the top of this page - It's a little rusty on that car, but you can see that if that collar was removed, a wheel with most any centerbore size would bolt on the front My 5" wide Mini wheels fit the front, but anything wider wil...

Re: Aftermarket Wheels

On the iMiEV, the front spindles have a pressed on steel collar whose only function it to make sure some idiot doesn't try bolting a rear wheel on the front - The collar makes the front centerbore need to be larger than it is for the rear wheels If the I wheels you buy all have the smaller centerbor...

Re: Aftermarket Wheels

Probably - The sizes and the offsets are correct. The only thing that could possibly trip you up is the iMiEV wheels have different centerbores, front to rear. Maybe the 2007 Mitsu does too?

Re: XS Power 12V battery

Any AGM battery speced to fit '90 thru '97 Mazda Miatas will work well in the iMiEV. It has more available current than the stock battery and the cost for some of them are as low as $100 shipped. I've had one in one of our cars for about 3 years now. The battery isn't as tall as the stock iMiEV lead...

Re: Ignition/door keys

I'm sure the keys are indeed coded to the car - We have two iMiEV's and four keys, two of which work with each car and will not work with the other car That said, button cells which won't provide enough current to operate the key might well still test 'good' looking at their unloaded voltage with a ...

The fact that the car sat for 5 days with 12 bars of charge has nothing to do with the differences you're seeing on the RR gauge

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

Honda sold CNG cars for several years, but I think only on the West Coast. That seemed like the ideal solution to me at the time (still does, actually) because you could refuel in your own garage and have 250 miles of range or more and no road use taxes on the fuel
