SOLD Steel rear wheels / nearly new winter tires SOLD

Hello everyone, I have a set of steel rear wheels with nearly new winter tires for sale. They were removed from a 2012i i-MiEV. The car was in a front-end collision and scrapped. The front tires and one front rim were damaged in the collision, so I scrapped them with the car. Tires: 185/55R15 Contin...

Re: Automatic Brake Lights

I'd expect there is a single-axis accelerometer in the GearBrake. The calibration of the unit at the start allows it to find level and remove acceleration due to gravity. The unit is then tilted slightly to adjust for sensitivity (adding or removing some influence of gravity). Hills will definitely ...

Re: Automatic Brake Lights

The latest free info I could find on the web on the subject of automatic brake light regulations in the US was this article from 2016: https://www.bellinghamherald.com/news/traffic/rules-of-the-road/article53707810.html. According to the author, the US Government does not have a brake light decelera...

Automatic Brake Lights

Since our car decelerates aggressively in B (compared to an ICE vehicle coasting), I wanted to have a way to automatically trigger the brake lights to help save from being rear-ended. Today I installed a GearBrake Smart Brake Light Module (https://gearbrake.com/). They are really cheap. I installed ...

Re: Cost to replace an i-miev battery?

Do the LG 21700 cells have a high enough current rating? They are rated for 7.3A. An LEV50N is capable of 300A continuous (https://pushevs.com/2015/11/04/gs-yuasas-improved-cells-lev50-vs-lev50n/). You would need 41+ of those LG cells in parallel to be able to deliver a rated 300A. I don't think the...

Re: Better charging controls

My car has 65000 km (40000 mi). I'll order an MCU fuse to have on hand. As soon as the warranty is up, it is going in. The good news is that the towing coverage included with my wife's CAA (Canadian equivalent of AAA) membership will get the miev to the nearest dealership if need be.

Thanks!

Re: Better charging controls

Thanks Kiev for chiming in and your work on the OBCs. With split phase AC, the frequency is constant. Both the 120V and 240V lines are at 60Hz, with a period of 1/60 seconds (~17 msec) Edit: If you are tracing contacts on a board, you probably know a lot more about electrical theory than I do. Are y...

Re: Better charging controls

Hi JoeS, From my read of this thread, it looks like you've ended most of your charging sessions by cutting the mains power to your EVSE via an external timer. I also would like to not charge fully (for battery life) and wish that the Miev had a feature to allow stopping the charge (at 80%) for examp...
