Re: Options for repairs when service is now sparce and distant?

Hi Folks, Our 2014 has six months left on the original warranty. Nearest authorized service center is about 75 miles, which I could do with a stop on the way. Another Mitsubishi dealer is about 25 miles away, though they are not electric-certified. But they can get parts. We have a really good local...

Re: Aftermarket Wheels

Hi Folks,

Cool thread!
I had been planning on buying a spare wheel and tire.
Now I know about the inside wheel diameter issue, and
that our 2008 Honda Fit spare will likely work on Maeve.
Am going to jack her up and test fit.

Thanks and good health, Weogo

Re: Neutrik Powercon True 1 connectors

Hi Folks, A portable cord with a 300V rating is usually labeled SJ for Service Junior. SO cord carries a 600V rating and has a thicker overall jacket, and maybe thicker insulation on the conductors as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_cord One thing I look for when buying wire to build ca...

Re: Neutrik Powercon True 1 connectors

Hi Joe and Don, Joe, thanks for the link! I knew somebody would wonder about the Powercons! As Don noted, the no-exposed-pins part is a notable plus for me. In the audio world I work with everything from Edisons to camloks to installing breakers and tying in. Safety is the first priority. While futu...

Neutrik Powercon True 1 connectors

Hi Folks, I just got an advanced OpenEVSE kit. Chose this one because it is dual voltage, amp rate can be set as needed, has timer or killowatts selection. It will be dialed down to 16A for Maeve. I have a 20A, 240V outlet out where the car is parked, with about 50' of 10ga buried wire feeding it. T...

Re: XS Power 12V battery

Hi Folks, I've been doing some 12V battery research. Safety first: Current Lithium batteries really do not do well when charged below freezing. Imagine it is 5 degrees below freezing. With our I-MiEVs, the 12V battery turns on some systems, and brings the main battery online. Pretty quickly circuitr...

Re: Fuse location for parking lights in 2012 ES

Hi Steve, I got your message. I'm sure I saw the parking light fuse listed somewhere, but cannot find it! The fuse information has the following note: "The table above shows the main equipment corresponding to each fuse." This makes me think that the parking lights may be doubled up with s...

Re: Fuse location for parking lights in 2012 ES

Hi Lithim, If you are sitting in the driver's seat, the fuse box you need to access is under the dash, just forward of your left knee. Press the tab and pull the cover. There's a fuse puller clipped inside the cover. There's one fuse for both the left and right bulbs. The fuses are color-coded, and ...

Re: XS Power 12V battery

Hi Joe, Thanks for the link sfn all the info! We don't sit in the car with the radio on, and it doesn't sit for more than a day or two. My wife named our I-MiEV Maeve. Last night when starting and going to READY, the RBS and MOTOR icons lit up and stayed on. Turning off, shifting out of Park and bac...
