Re: i-Miev Battery Cell Testing

Gary 12345, unlike LiFePO4, our cell chemistry is such that voltage fairly well reflects State of Charge and doesn't sag, I think you'd simply measure one of the other cell's voltage and simply charge the replacement to match.

Re: Managing private messages in this forum?

acensor, I finally got back online as we've been having some 'interesting' weather and lots of downed trees and power outages. I personally welcome all these violent storms and all the rain they finally bring. Love razzing my friends that my electric car is powering my house (even though it's just a...

Re: "New" 2018 IMIEV. Paddle shifters on it. Cheers

Nicely-appointed and I'm envious of those regen paddles, which I had been asking for dating back to Aptera and in our early days here. According to this website, the present-day i-MiEV is also available in Canada. https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/en/showroom/i-miev/regional_sites/ Their too...

Re: new owner question

snookpig, welcome to the forum. A 2012 with 1200 miles on it!!! Gosh, I wouldn't expect any suspension wear at all. Regarding your issue, in addition to what Don said, what you describe also sounds like underinflated rear tires. First make sure that the tires are inflated correctly (36psi) or even o...

Re: Headlights

It's not that the headlights are 'low', it's simply, like in many modern cars, the low beams have an extremely sharp cutoff. Raising them would blind the oncoming traffic. Our high beams are additive to the low beams and are terrific on my dark twisting country road.

Re: ChargePoint Charging Question

Wow, thank you very much for posting this graph! I've never seen charge level changes like this. Up to the car's OBC (On Board Charger ) maximum, the EVSE supplying the power tells the car how much it can deliver. Nice to see that it did jump up to full power, after which the car did its normal full...

Re: How Well Does My Remaining Range Compare With Other Older Cars?

On February 1, Mitti is at 38.1Ah with about 35K miles on the replacement pack, worse than I expected and may be due to my leadfoot driving as I continue charging really conservatively. Yesterday I fully fully charged Mitti up from two bars (for the first time since I don't-remember when), and the c...

Re: Will not preheat when fully charged.

OK, last night I fully fully charged Mitti at 8A 120 vac until it stopped charging this morning. Without unplugging the car I then used the Remote to turn on the heat. No problem, it started heating normally, albeit slowly, but it worked just as it should! Reading more and thinking about it, it make...

Re: Will not preheat when fully charged.

cj, first off, I think you'll find that there is very rarely a need to fully charge the car. With an 8-10-mile round-trip commute and then some running around town you can easily stop charging at around 12 bars and be comfortable on a daily basis. You simply use the Remote to tell the car when to st...
