Re: Anyone driven from the South Bay to San Francisco? 45 mi

Jenn - congratulations! That was some marathon trip using city streets to go all the way up the Peninsula, and it was a good test to perform on a warm sunny Sunday. In your case, taking the train up to the meeting would have made more sense ... although your 'fuel' cost was probably less than the tr...

Re: San Francisco BayMiEVers

The first San Francisco BayMiEVers get-together was held today (March 3, 2012) for what was probably the first iMiEV owners' gathering in the US. :?: WeeJohn and jjlink each drove about 30 miles, MtnViewMark lives closeby, whereas jennrod12 rode her bicycle about 20 miles (uphill) to get here. FreqF...

Re: "Range Remaining" algorithm?

The Range Remaining (RR) calculation is probably a trade secret. After all the bad-mouthing the Leaf's GOM was getting, I happen to think our i-MiEV's algorithm is pretty good. The update rate can be pretty fast - turn on the heater and watch it lose 10 miles almost immediately, although that could ...

Re: San Francisco BayMiEVers

OK, the get-together is scheduled for 10:00am this coming Saturday, 3 March, in Los Altos Hills. Confirmed coming are jennrod12, jjlink, and WeeJohn, with possibly another i-MiEV owner from San Jose. Haven't heard back from MtnViewMark. In addition to comparing notes and socializing, we'll be having...

Re: Remote control issues

rickmaz, thank you for the workaround for the "Error" bug, as I had given up on the (expletive deleted) Remote because "Error" is all it gave me whenever I transmitted - although it did work for pre-heating the car. When I rushed out a minute ago to try your technique, wouldn't y...

Re: Survey: PayPal deposit of $299 for the car, refund.

I sent an email to Mitsubishi yesterday explaining the situation. Today they called me seeking further details, assigned me a reference number, and promised to get back within 4-5 days. Very professional about it. I'm hopeful.

Re: San Francisco BayMiEVers

OK, the weather for this coming Saturday March 3 is looking good, and a number of you had expressed a preference for Saturdays. If you could PM me with your time and munchies-to-bring preferences and your contact information I will send you directions on how to get to my house and the time. I'm thin...

Re: Li-ion Battery DETROYED by DEEP DISCHARGE

Yes, I also received the same letter on Saturday. Just another way of ensuring that the BMS and SOC are periodically recalibrated. Glad to see Mitsubishi is on top of this. Interesting that they're calling the Fuel Gauge a SOC indicator instead of the Energy Level Gauge in their manual. Traditionall...

Re: Survey: PayPal deposit of $299 for the car, refund.

When I cancelled the order online, I also left a comment in the box provided that I had just bought an iMiEV.
jjlink - how did you approach Mitsubishi - phone, email, letter, or dealer contact?

Re: SF South Bay to Capitola (Over 1800ft Summit) Trip Data

jray3 - My datalogging is an old-fashioned small hadheld voice recorder (it even uses tape!) that I periodically read off my Garmin GPS and instrument panel. I'll take one of my handheld GPS' next time (or maybe the iPad with GPSMotionX) in order to record altitude, as that's a significant piece of ...
