Re: Will not preheat when fully charged.

OK, last night I fully fully charged Mitti at 8A 120 vac until it stopped charging this morning. Without unplugging the car I then used the Remote to turn on the heat. No problem, it started heating normally, albeit slowly, but it worked just as it should! Reading more and thinking about it, it make...

Re: Will not preheat when fully charged.

cj, first off, I think you'll find that there is very rarely a need to fully charge the car. With an 8-10-mile round-trip commute and then some running around town you can easily stop charging at around 12 bars and be comfortable on a daily basis. You simply use the Remote to tell the car when to st...

Re: ChargePoint Charging Question

Kevin, thank you for following-up with your post. A plausible explanation if the other car has a 6.6kW OBC, although why would it happen at the end of our i-MiEV "timeout"?. I think we'll all pay a bit more attention to this and post here once we learn more.

Re: Will not preheat when fully charged.

My preheat and whatnot seems to work as intended while the car is charging(120v standard charger) but not once fully charged (still plugged in). .. cjm1219, welcome to the forum and hope the car is meeting your expectations. Interesting observation about the car locking out the Remote when fully to...

Re: How Well Does My Remaining Range Compare With Other Older Cars?

Now at 97,700 miles, ... Hi Jay. What's your amp-hour reading? I'm finding myself using EVgo DCQC more often (when NEEDED, and then usually for just a few minutes), as it seems that the present cool weather hits the pack a bit harder. After my Tahoe trip I like the 'new' EVgo so much that I've sign...

Re: Spare Wheels

Aerowhatt, thanks for this update. Certainly a better solution than the two Insight spares I carry with me, as my mismatched wheels mean I need to change both left and right at the same time. Luckily, only had to do it once so far when the overinflated Yoko blew out.

Re: Neutrik Powercon True 1 connectors

The connectors I plan on using for the EVSE plug and receptacle are Neutrik Powercon True 1... Why bother with the non-standard Powercon that won't plug into anything else? Just put on a NEMA 14-50 plug and make pigtail adapters which end with a 14-50 receptacle. This will future-proof your EVSE fo...

Re: Remote & Heater

Funny, I was thinking of that recently as I had simply wanted to pre-set the Remote timer to turn on the heater just like we can use the Remote for charging control. After experiencing the remote-control capabilities of the always-connected Tesla and its app, our little Remote is sooo last-decade. H...
