Re: Warning Codes - Car with ! Exclamation Mark

Lena, welcome to the forum. In addition to a genuine Mitsubishi dedicated computer and software called MUT3 which is expensive and not readily available, there are a number of alternatives available. I purchased something called "iCarsoft Mitsubishi/Mazda i909 Multi-System Scanner OBDII Vehicle...

Re: Older Leaf driving impression (good value)

Don't know about you guys, but there's something comforting about hearing that contactor click in the EVSE after depressing the J1772 button and before withdrawing that connector. :geek:  Leaf question: are those bars on the Leaf display a good enough indicator of capacity, or should one get L...

Re: Older Leaf driving impression (good value)

Thanks for the input. A neighbor is looking for a first car for her teenage son and I had just suggested a newer (2015+) Leaf with supposedly better batteries. Back in 2011, the primary reason I did not buy the Leaf is the wimpy regen - this, as I was driving a hacked Gen1 Insight with great fingert...

Re: 12V battery and heated seat cover

All sorted, thanks everyone! My dad came and helped me fit the new battery, we used some jumper leads to keep either the old or the new battery connected to the car throughout so didn't need a radio code thankfully. I have since been enjoying a luxuriously warm bum, and will appreciate not having t...

Re: Hi a new guy here - some general questions

Starting back in 2012 we had an enterprising member (iMiEVNZ7) who was trying to get an i-MiEV going as a rental car in New Zealand, but was stymied by a lack of supporting infrastructure. For his trials and tribulations you might read a few of his threads/posts: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.p...

Re: Hi a new guy here - some general questions

Regarding acceleration, I gleefully like to show these monster vehicles around me just how sprightly the i-MiEV is. That said, stomping down on the Tesla's accelerator is second-to-none when it comes to exhilaration. Agree with you regarding regeneration, as I've been a strong proponent of heavy reg...

EVgo and AAA

I've been a reluctant member of both EVgo and AAA for years. Although I use EVgo very often nowadays (and generally get my monthly fee back in kWh) as I wander further away from home when my wife frequently takes the Tesla up to Oregon. I haven't used AAA for years but keep it in case I need to have...

Re: Hi a new guy here - some general questions

Despite being on the world market for a couple of years before 2011, the i-MiEV was the second 'modern' BEV in the US market, after the Nissan Leaf. For me, it was all about the regen, the super-tight turning radius, and the capacious cargo area which had literally twice the volume of a Leaf's with ...

Re: Appraisal/Body Work Recommendations?

A few years ago, after a garage support structure column at a local market jumped out and bit the right front bumper of 'my' i-MiEV that my wife had borrowed, our forum community provided a lead for a worldwide parts source which also contains an Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB). Here's the link to...
