Re: Is my battery dying ?

I've managed to record some cell readouts yesterday at 71%, 10% (turtle just appearing) and just this once, I let it drain right down to 0% on the driveway until it actually shut off, to see what the cutoff voltage was. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1wgiMoLC33NG03IanHYnSpHp6GUSz...

Re: Is my battery dying ?

My OBDLink LX arrived today so at lunchtime I popped out to the car to plug it in and it worked straight away. :) The 36.1Ah capacity figure appeared straight away, so perhaps the car broadcasts this figure when the key is first turned on as I had Canion already running before turning on the key. (O...

Re: Is my battery dying ?

But . . . . a car with 40,000 miles on it that can still go 50+ miles at 55 to 65 mph doesn't have a battery that's in too bad shape, IMO. You can probably still go 65 or 70 miles at 35 or 40 . . . . without the heater I'm not saying that the condition of the battery right now is unusable or unreas...

Re: Is my battery dying ?

Driving it fast, can you actually go 55 to 60 miles? That's hard to answer, because I am still using some heater (but less than winter) however yesterday I did some motorway driving without the heater, dry roads, and about 12C outside, discharging the battery to about 30%. At the end of the trip di...

Is my battery dying ?

For the last year I've been keeping an eye on my Ion's Ah battery capacity using Diagbox, and there has been a gradual steady, linear decline of capacity that has been in line with or better than other similar mileage cars. Until today my last measurement was in January. I recently got hold of an An...

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

Interesting, I wonder if there is a difference between the older LEV50 cells in my car and the LEV50N cells use after mid 2012 ? Perhaps 46Ah is the correct figure to use for a "new" battery then. It can't be 50Ah as the cells are only charged to 4.1 volts, so using 50Ah as the starting fi...

Re: What tire would you recommend?

Update on the new front Blizzaks and rear Enasaves: As I was pushing the car a bit going down my windy road last night, the ASC kicked in prematurely  keeping me from applying full throttle in the curve. Guess there must be a diameter mismatch between the Blizzaks and Enasaves which is recog...

Re: What tire would you recommend?

Thought I'd throw my 2c into the conversation as I too was faced with needing new tyres on my Ion last year, and contemplating the odd sizes it needs. The tyres that came on the car were Hankook Kinergy Eco summer tyres, all were getting towards minimum tread, were starting to crack badly on the sid...

Re: Miles/kwh long term data?

I've been driving my Ion for about a year and have done 12k miles. My daily commute (which is about 80% of my driving) is 38 miles - half 30mph residential, half motorway 50-70mph. In summer without the heater I'm getting about 4.2 miles/kWh measured at the wall (including charging losses) averaged ...

Re: C-Zero radio code reset

Hello friends the code finds the radio code manual and they only have the last 4 digits The radio code for the factory radio can be easily retrieved on an Ion / C-Zero using Diagbox 7.xx and a Lexia 3 interface. It can also "unblock" the radio if the wrong code had been entered too many t...
