Can Bus Reverse Engineering for the iMiev

This may not be the correct place for this post - so if not, Admins, please do your Adminning ;-) But I wanted to know if anyone had done any reverse engineering on the iMiev Can Bus. I am looking for a way to have an Arduino interface to change some of the ramp and regenerative brake ramps on the '...

Re: Trailer Hitch Installation

I just bought one for one of my imiev’ s and it was delivered about three weeks ago but I haven’t installed it yet. Every weekend it’s been cold wet and yucky, so I’m procrastinating until better weather arrives. Here I am, another winter with my imiev, wanting to make some longer trips - and still...

Re: Help won't charge

new tickler. I took it to a repair shop that works on hybrids and electrics (though they basically do tires and brakes on electrics). They had a leaf there. I plugged it into the leaf and it worked. I took it home and plugged it into my iMiev and it worked. A few hours later, when I was prepping to ...

Re: Help won't charge

ok - I took the handle apart and tested the lead that it looked to be wired to. Looked like it was between the proximity detector and the equipment ground. With the button up - not pressed - the resistance between the two was 150 Ohms. With the button pressed it was 480 kilo Ohms. Does anyone know i...

Re: Help won't charge

Well, it charged just fine on the L2 blink charger at Ikea.
The guy from EVSE will be getting a call tomorrow. Time to get out the testing equipment and see what's going on.
Of course this has to happen on our first temp drop of the year....

Re: Help won't charge

I tried the qtip method with some rubbing alcohol. They came out dirty. It did it till they came out pretty clean, no change. I am charging at an expensive L3 right now. When I get to 80%, I'm going to go to a nearby network L2 and see if it will charge. If it does, I may go after my EVSE. I have em...

Re: Help won't charge

I tried on the L1 and L2 charger tonight - nothing. I am going to go try and find a network L2 and make sure the car will take a charge. ;-(
Suggestions anyone??

Re: Help won't charge

MAYDAY!! Just rolled over 20k in my 2012 iMiev. I like to have my battery topped off before leaving for work. When we went to take the dog for a walk, I noticed the car was still charging on my L1 plug. No worries, just swap the plug into the L2. The orange 'charge' light never came on. I thought it...

Re: Practical solutions for extending cold weather range

The manual should list the fuse size for the heated seat. If I remember correctly, the heated seat uses about 120 watts when on, but it cycles. Put simply, the headlights use more. I would think this is still on-topic. Heated seats are about the best thing going for helping winter range (for me, it...
