Re: I Smoked a Porsche at a Stoplight Today!

Understand, RobbW. Understand. BTW, I started reading the thread on your Rt. 66 journey yesterday. I'm only about halfway through all the pages. You just got out to Cali where I left off last. I just want to say that I am thoroughly impressed with your journey. It takes a lot of guts and planning t...

Re: I Smoked a Porsche at a Stoplight Today!

In my daily commute to/from work, I get plenty of opportunities to race other drivers off the line. My daily commute probably accounts for 95% of all opportunities I've had for racing off the line. All these opportunities on my commute come at points where one lane ends a very short distance after t...

Re: I Smoked a Porsche at a Stoplight Today!

I used to beat people off the line, too, and frequently. However, it was never other drivers who were ready for a race, paying attention to the light, and reacting with precision timing. I had alert soccer moms in Toyota Camrys beat me off the line. I'm just saying that in most of my experiences at ...

Re: I Smoked a Porsche at a Stoplight Today!

While on this subject, it would sure be nice if someone could figure out a hack to remove that 1-2 second ramp-up delay after one stomps on the accelerator. This is why I pretty much always roll my eyes whenever I see someone posting that they smoked such-and-such car off the line. Whatever! It's h...

Re: Best charging practices for battery longevity

However, now that I just got my new Pacifica eHybrid, the old OCD may be rearing its ugly head again! And how is the Pacifica working out? We were thinking of that but got the Volt instead. We freaking love the Pacifica Hybrid!!!!!!! (Can't give it enough exclamation points). I would have loved to ...

Re: Best charging practices for battery longevity

I pretty much plug in my Meepster and charge daily. I use the remote to schedule the start time for just after midnight to take advantage of low overnight electric rates. Depending on the season and the temperature, the Meepster will have just finished charging right before I need to leave for work ...

Re: TPMS and nail in tire

Unfortunately, I WAS stranded in the cold this past Monday when I got a flat on my front driver's side tire. I tried using the tire repair kit, but the damage was too severe. All I got was a puddle of tire sealant on the pavement and a still-flat tire. I called Mitsu Roadside Assistance. My Meepster...

"Tire Repair Kit" profiteering!

This past Monday evening, I got a flat on my front driver's side tire. I attempted to use the so-called "tire repair kit" that comes with the iMiEV (rather than an actual spare). The damage was apparently too severe for the repair kit as all it did was leave a giant puddle of sealant on th...

Re: Front tire wear

I am just now having all 4 tires on my Meepster replaced. Purchased her new in July 2013. She currently has 35.5K miles on her. I noticed the inside tread of the front tires wearing out quite a while ago. However, I'm only just now getting around to replacing the tires due to necessity. Got a flat t...

Re: Steering Wheel Thumb Control Issues!

Yes I had experimented this situation 2 times, so strange that all controls seems to be mixed. I've turned off the car and turned on again and then it was ok. Sometimes just turning the stereo's power off and on again will clear the issue. However, most of the time I have to completely shut off the...
