Re: EVs in Everyday Life

"Trader Joes" - appropriate :-)
No photo, but when I flew to Schipol Airport (in the Netehrlands, outskirts of Amsterdam) earlier this year I was shocked (deliberate) to see an almost endless stream of Tesla Model S taxis - they outnumbered the Merc's and Audis by 10 to 1 at least.

Re: Aerodynamic Mods to Reduce Drag

Good news for legalizing video mirrors: Eh. LCD screens can become hard to view in sunlight, which doesn't happen with real mirrors (unless you've got the sun right in them, I guess). I'm thinking specifically of my i-MiEV's existing rear-view camera, which is useless more often than I'd like. and ...

Re: Getting the Remote Control for C-Zero

As I understand it, the C-Zero & iOn are not compatible with the remote control.
Apparently the i-MiEV has an aerial printed on (or visible through) one of the little windows at the front of the car - does anyone have a photo that shows this?

Re: Reviving Non-Op UK Auction Sibling

Thanks mdbuilder, that was the only one I have seen at a price that makes repairing the car viable. Unfortunately I was too late when I tried to buy it. Have a lot more confidences in the diagnosis now I have noticed on the forum the recall of US model imiev's to replace the faulty MCU's made in 20...

Re: Trip planner web sites/software

For those of us in the UK, this is quite interesting, as there is some customisation you can do to tell it your battery capacity, how far out of your way you are prepared to go to charge, your preferred min and max charge levels, the type of charge your car can accept, and maybe some more I haven't ...

Re: Riversimple

I found this on the 'EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval' ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor_vehicle_type_approval ), but it's not clear just exactly how the car fares in a crash or what the crash test criterion are under this standard. It looks like it costs (quite a lot of) money to see the EU/UN...

Re: Does the EUDM IMIEV support 240v 7Kw charging?

I'm pretty sure the european i-MiEV (and the clones) only support 3.3Kw 240v charging.
The extra few hundred watts over using the supplied 10 amp EVSE do make a difference though, and that can be very useful if you're charging between trips.

In the same period the UK ran almost exclusively on coal and natural gas, but that would not be advertised. Actually for that period in the UK the percentage split was: coal nuclear ccgt wind french_ict dutch_ict irish_ict ew_ict pumped hydro oil ocgt other 3.93 23.15 46.18 9.12 6.02 1.35 0.15 0.11...
