Re: Gas Cans --> Electric Mowers

Hi Guys, it looks like we are getting off-topic in this forum. Anyway, I have never transitioned from gas powered mower to electric one. I transitioned from corded electric to to Fisker brand reel mower. Now, I don't even need to plug it and it is even quieter vs. electric. Well, there is a caveat. ...

Roman, this is pretty decent. Was the turtle portion of the trip on flat road or slightly downhill?

Re: Euro spec i-MiEV, 2013 mod, LED headlights

I have picked up the iMiEV in April 2015 in Poland, transported it on a trailer to Czech Republic. https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/10003274_10153072106973891_8243278795003073417_n.jpg?oh=86dcc4f45f1f03c99d3ddc616268f54e&oe=565DA636 Then, I coordinated with family and l...

Yes, 2013 LEAF and newer got heat pump but only for mid and high trim. The base trim does not have it but there is no liquid heater, it is air heater.

Re: Upgrading the heating system to bioethanol or Diesel fue

I have got 2015 Leaf and it does not have liquid heater. Furthermore, it has much better insulated cabin vs. iMiEV and perhaps better than first production years Leafs. I would still prefer combustion heater for any EV. Unfortunately, the after market technical execution of this idea is only getting...

Re: Instant Heat... so far

I hope that as the cost of batteries will decrease, it will be effective for manufacturers to throw money into overall thermal management. Solar heating is a good idea in the Winter but we have to bear in mind that the vehicle is meant to be used all year around, including those hot days in the Summ...

Re: Upgrading the heating system to bioethanol or Diesel fue

Thanks, Don, for sharing the success story. For all, in regards of the turtle, you would take the chance in Summer because in case you have to call for the tow, you do not have to freeze as you wait. In the Winter, you do not want to take the chance UNLESS you have the combustion heater, which keeps...

Re: Euro spec i-MiEV, 2013 mod, LED headlights

Just an update on headlight leveling as well as overall modification to meet EU spec. I managed to get headlight leveling switch from eBuy, although it is different Mitsu model and different year. It won't illuminate when the dash lights come on. The resistance values start with ~780 Ohm to ~2100 Oh...

Re: Upgrading the heating system to bioethanol or Diesel fue

Don, Thank you for very nice write up. I am endorsing it 100%. For in-factory implementation, I would recommend Mitsubishi to adjust the dh software to provide: 1) driver controlled temperature 2) implement (auto) adjustable power with much lower minimum, somewhere around 500W, 3) eliminate the leng...
