Re: Back-In Parking

Large department stores must be different in my neck of the woods - Can't remember the last time I saw a parking lot where the spaces are not angled in - If you back into those (and some idiots do) then you're pulling out against the flow of one way traffic I *think* the preponderance of 'angle in' ...

Re: Charging Down Route 66

We didn't go much faster that that on our Route 66 trip in our Miata. We stopped many times each day to see the sights, go through museums and other points of interest - I took a special interest in all the original bridges still standing on the route and we stopped to take pictures of almost every ...

Re: Alternative 12V Aux battery options

I would liberally grease all the connections with a 'no-ox' compound. My experience with electrical connections with any aluminum present in the marine environment is that the aluminum goes away quite quickly due to dissimilar metal corrosion. If anyone else is thinking of trying this lawnmower batt...

Re: solar on the car roof

Max regen is on the order of 340 volts and 75 amps. You would need a BUNCH of very tiny solar cells to get you the needed 340 volts . . . . at 2.5 volts per cell, around 130 or 140 of them and they would be so small they probably wouldn't give you half an amp. As you've no doubt read, solar on the c...

Re: Mechanical Timer for Charging?

Keep in mind the 'charger' is built into the car and I think you're reading the capacity of the EVSE and calling it the charger - Correct? All that matters is the rating on the charger in the car - The EVSE may be good for 240 volts @ 16 amps (3,840 watts) and it could pass that amount to the car *i...

Re: Wheel is misshapen, tire leaks air slowly. What do i do?

I can't picture anyone bending the 'center' of a wheel and not either of the lips - Very strange!

In any case, it would be time to toss that wheel and replace it with a new one

Re: Charging Down Route 66

Pretty sure you can just set the EVSE on the rear deck and close the hatch on the two cords - Nary a drop of rain anywhere then

Re: Widening Takata airbag recall

In morning will call Mitsubishi corporate customer service (888-648-7820) and see if they’ll pay for two-way trucking for repair and will even ask for rental of a replacement car while it’s gone. Will see and report back. Other option might be have them authorizes the local Subaru dealer (who actua...

Re: My Car is Only Charging Up to 12 Bars

I quite understand that whilst I am driving the km distance meter will reflect how I am driving and the condition of the road. In fact as soon as I switch on the airconditioner the range drops by 20km. In my case I am reading the km left as soon as I finish charging the battery at full 16 notches a...

Re: My Car is Only Charging Up to 12 Bars

Thus every time I give it a charge the amount in this meter gives me an indication of how much the battery has been charged and what autonomy I have left in them. No, that's not true - The 'km left meter' doesn't tell you anything at all about the health of the battery or how much charge you put in...
